Staffing employment so far in April is 19 percent higher than during the same month last year, according to the American Staffing Association’s Staffing Index.

Some consider staffing employment to be one of several key economic and employment indicators, especially as the economy recovers from recession.

The index has risen to 86 in April, up from 83 for March, suggesting that staffing employment has increased almost 4 percent over the past month.

The latest statistics show steady growth over the past 10 weeks, with the exception of the payroll period that included the Easter holiday, the ASA reported, To view weekly index data, visit http://www.americanstaffing.net/statistics/historical_data.cfm.
